LIFE PROJECT "UNTERSBERG FORELAND" IN OVERVIEW


 
     

The diverse cultural landscape at the foot of the Untersberg with its prominent butterfly population is of the highest ecological worth. The 190 hectare large project area is designated as a NATURA 2000 site and provides a habitat for rare and endangered animals and plant species.

The inauguration of the LIFE-Project took place on 01.10.2006. Numerous additional measures will be put in place by 31.10.2010 in order to conserve the region's unique habitats and species for the future.
